The TOEFL iBT is a standardized online test that assesses the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers who wish to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries.

The TOEFL iBT consists of four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing, each of which is scored out of 30.

The test takes about 2 hours to complete.

You can register for the test online through the official TOEFL ETS website.

TOEFL iBT scores are valid for two years from your test date.

Your scores will be posted on your online ETS account approximately 10 days after your test date.

Yes, you can retake the test as many times as you wish, but not more than once in a 3-day period.

The minimum score varies widely depending on the university and program. It’s recommended to check the specific requirements of the institutions you’re applying to.

In the Speaking section, you’ll be asked to speak into a microphone, and your responses will be recorded and scored.

Preparation methods include self-study with books and online resources, taking a preparation course, and using the official TOEFL iBT Interactive Sampler.

TOEFL iBT is an internet-based test and measures all four language skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. TOEFL PBT is a paper-based test and doesn’t include a speaking component. As of 2017, ETS no longer administers the PBT, except in areas where internet testing is unavailable.
