4. How can I register for the CELPIP test?
You can register online through the official CELPIP website. Select the test center, date, and the type of test you want to take (CELPIP-General or CELPIP-General LS).
5. How are the CELPIP tests scored?
Each component of the test (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) is scored on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) scale ranging from 1 to 12.
6. How and when will I receive my CELPIP results?
CELPIP test scores will be available online through your CELPIP account approximately 4-5 calendar days from your test date.
7. Can I retake the CELPIP test?
Yes, there is no limit to how many times you can retake the CELPIP test. However, it’s important to spend time improving your English skills between tests.
8. What is the minimum CELPIP score required for Canadian immigration?
The minimum score depends on the immigration program. For instance, under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, a minimum of CLB 7 in all components is required. You should check the specific requirements of the immigration program you’re applying for.
9. How can I prepare for the CELPIP test?

10. Can I use a dictionary during the CELPIP test?
No, using dictionaries or any other aids is not allowed during the CELPIP test.
11. What types of questions are on the CELPIP test?
The CELPIP test includes various types of questions such as multiple choice, fill in the blanks, short answer, and tasks that require you to listen or read and then respond
12. Are there accommodations for test-takers with disabilities?
Yes, test accommodations are available for those who qualify. You will need to apply for these accommodations at the time of registration.
13. How long are CELPIP scores valid?
CELPIP scores are valid for two years from the date of the test.
14. Can I take notes during the CELPIP test?
Yes, you can take notes during the test. A notepad and pen will be provided to you in the test center.
15. How can I send my CELPIP scores to institutions or organizations?
You can send your CELPIP test scores to organizations directly through your CELPIP account for a fee. Some organizations, like Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), receive your scores automatically and free of charge.
